Dear Parents

It’s time to March into a new month of educational adventures!

We will learn all about growing things as March begins. Your child’s knowledge of the plant  kingdom will grow when we take close-up look at flowering plants, soak up the wonders of photosynthesis, plant a garden, and grow beans. You can help cultivate your child's participation with reminders to wear clothing with flower designs or bright color on Thursday, 8th. A good job for your child at home this month might be that “house gardener”, tending to all plant life in the home.

During the second week of March, we turn Irish and meet Leprechauns, follow rainbows to their ends where pots of gold await, hunt for lucky shamrocks, and culminate the celebration with tantalizing green eggs and ham (complete with green apple juice, of course). Encourage your Leprechauns to dress for the occasion with a bit O’ the green on Friday 16th March.

Something new blows in when we study the season’s moody weather. We will talk about something white like a cloud, something that protects us from the rain and how important is the sun for all the growing things.

The last week in the month presents a basket full of colorful surprises.

On Bunny Hop Day, (Show and Tell Tuesday 27th) please bring in stuffed bunnies to share with friends at school. We will have hare-raising adventures with an Easter Bonnet Day parade, a day of coloring eggs, and, of course, an Easter egg hunt on Friday 30th.

Your involvement makes a big difference for your child. With your participation, the magic of March will be in full bloom for the entire family. We look forward to sharing in all the fun that's taking root this month.

This month we will be focusing on the recognition of letter T, U and V. The children will be taught the sound of the letters and the following examples will be included :
T : Table, Telephone, Tiger, Tomato, Turtle, etc...
U :  Umbrella, Unicorn, Uniform, etc...
V :  Vase, Van, Vest, Vegetables, Volcano, etc...

Numbers : 9 and 10
Shapes   : Circle,Triangle, Oval and Square
Colours   : Rainbow colours

Thanking you,

Joy, Meenu and Tina
