KANG PEEK (APRIL 30-MAY 3 2012)

Dear parents,

Our children did a wonderful performance last Friday and we know you all enjoyed the show.  We feel happy to give you good dancing memories of your child in Kangaroo class.  Our children will dance again on the 25^th May(last assembly of the school year) this time directed by Ms. Jenny, our music teacher. Kangaroo teachers will be supporting the dance so that our kids can give a good performance again! Please do come for this assembly.

The ‘Toy Shop’ on Tuesday was a good success. Children shared and also enjoyed playing with the toys they ‘bought’.

THEMES: SPRING/FLOWERS/LIFE CYCLES(frog)

LANGUAGE : ~Review adjectives….’My flower is beautiful’…

~Review verbs….’Frogs can jump’…..

MATH :~Number formation 16.

~W.s on adding pennies.

~Date writing for May.  (They should be able to tell you about the highlighted dates).

MEASUREMENT:~(based on the story ‘JACK AND THE BEANSTALK’) Paper art on making a beanstalk- use snap cubes to measure how long your beanstalk is.

~Children find objects around the room matching their snap cubes length….write…’My pencil is 6 cubes long’.

~We use boxes to measure and compare children’s heights….draw and write…’I am 8 boxes tall’.

GRAPH: We make a class graph of favorite flowers.

FROGS: We sought information about life cycle of a frog and as mentioned before children have already seen live tadpoles.  We cut and pasted life cycle on a lily pad.

W.s on joining dots for a frog and finding hidden tadpoles.

~Today we enjoyed reading story about ‘Frog and Toad’ in our school garden and played some frog games. After recess we enjoyed the cool orange-mango tang drink we made in class.

FIELD TRIPS: On the 9^th to Yongsan Family Park playground Time :10(departure) 12:00 (arrival) 

On the 23^rd to Children’s Zoo. Time:9:30(departure) 2:00(arrival)

(We will be needing 2 volunteers for the field trip on the 23^rd only)
